YOUR LOCAL RSL SUB-BRANCH

The Wagga Wagga RSL sub-Branch provides wellbeing and advocacy services and representation to serving and ex-service men and women.

We provide a means for members to enjoy camaraderie, fellowship and mateship through participation in a range of regular events and activities.

SUPPORT, ADVOCACY, ASSISTANCE AND FRIENDSHIP

The NSW RSL aims to be recognised and respected as the preeminent association within the Defence Family in New South Wales.

WELLBEING

The Wagga Wagga RSL sub-Branch Welfare Team aims to support Veterans and their families by providing assistance to current and former members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) in the areas of compensation and wellbeing support.

The RSL sub-Branch has trained volunteer Advocates who offer a free service to help explain entitlements, services and processes ensuring that those Veterans who are seeking assistance can make informed choices from the possible support options.

COMPENSATION CLAIMS

Current or former ADF members who have suffered an injury or illness which was related to their ADF service, or those who have been medically separated from the ADF, may be entitled to benefits such as medical treatment or compensation through the Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA).

The RSL sub-Branch Compensation Advocates can assist with establishing a member’s likely eligibility for any DVA compensation. Compensation Advocates are then able to assist with the compilation and submission of initial liability claims to DVA for service related injury or illness.

WELLBEING SUPPORT

Ongoing wellbeing support for veterans is offered by numerous government and charitable organisations and it can be difficult to know which organisation is able to provide what assistance.

The sub-Branch Wellbeing Advocates can assist by identifying a Veterans specific support needs and helping them engage with the appropriate support agency.

sub-Branch volunteers also provide support for Veteran’s funerals and for veterans home visits, age care facility visits or hospital visits in the local area.
